Flash: Sergerie and Hwang qualify for final in Women's -67kg taekwondo

(BEIJING, August 22) -- Canadian fighter Karine Sergerie and Hwang Kyung-seon of the Republic of Korea progressed to the final on Friday after defeating their respective opponents in the Women's -67kg division in the Olympic taekwondo competition.

Sergerie advanced by defeating Asuncion Ocasio Rodriguez of Puerto Rico 2:0 in a semifinal.

The other final berth went to Hwang, who defeated her major rival in the tournament, French taekwondo athlete Gwladys Patience Epangue.

The final will be held today at 8:00 p.m. local time (UTC/GMT +8)
